We represent writers and writer-producers working across television, radio, film and new media. Our clients’ names are associated with many of the most successful original drama, comedy, children’s and entertainment shows of recent years, together with the full spectrum of television soaps and continuing series.

Alongside the relationship with their individual agent, clients benefit from an integrated approach, whereby each of the agents is actively involved in working on behalf of the client list as a whole. This ensures a consistent quality of career guidance, creative feedback, contractual expertise and promotion across our network of producer contacts.

JFL Agency is a long-standing member of the Personal Managers Association (PMA), which works to improve writers’ terms across the industry alongside organisations such as the Writers Guild of Great Britain.

Alison Finch

Alison began her career in the industry as Jill Foster’s secretary back in 1980. After becoming Jill’s PA, Alison graduated to looking after clients before becoming a fully-fledged agent and then, with Gary and Dominic, a director and co-founder of JFL Agency. Known in-house as the “Soap Queen” due to her particular interest in continuing drama series, Alison is the in-house authority on all the soaps and always happy to share her knowledge with clients. She also has a keen interest in drama and is always on the look-out for the next binge-worthy series. Alison enjoys the challenges and rewards of working as part of a close team in a boutique agency, looking after the interests of all the company’s clients, and helping our writers reach their personal goals.

Dominic Lord

Dominic started working as an agent at Jill Foster Ltd in 2001, building up a list of new writers and later taking on a full list, initially focusing on those working in comedy. He previously completed a BA (Hons) in Scriptwriting for Film & Television at Bournemouth University, and a short internship at Sarah Radclyffe Productions that gave him a taste for the industry side of things and a love of reading scripts. Dominic enjoys liaising with writers to get scripts as industry-ready as they can be, and getting the best deals for our clients. Whilst he is always drawn to shows that make him laugh, his interests are wide, from broad comedy to dark drama and everything in-between.

Gary studied philosophy and literature at the University of East Anglia and University of Wales (Cardiff College). After spells in teaching and the Civil Service, he joined Jill Foster Ltd in 2002, where he quickly became an agent looking after a list of drama and comedy writers. Gary’s professional interests are wide ranging, stretching from political satire to contemporary thrillers; he’s always excited to discover an original voice with something out of the ordinary to say. Gary enjoys working closely with clients on all aspects of their work, as well as keeping track of developments in our ever-changing industry and helping build the agency’s connections. He also sits on the PMA’s Long-Running Series Committee, working to improve the standing of writers on some of TV’s core shows.
