David has written for ten series of BBC1 hit show FATHER BROWN, with his latest episode – for series 13 – filming Summer 2025. As well as writing for the first two series of daytime detective drama SHAKESPEARE AND HATHAWAY, he has also written for BBC1’s CASUALTY and was a core member of the BBC’s DOCTORS writing team with over 70 episodes to his name. Previously, David wrote three series of AGATHA RAISIN for Radio 4, with Penelope Keith starring as the eponymous detective. In addition to writing the first episode of children’s TV series BARON BEASTLY for Meerkat, and dramatising folk tales for R4′s children’s strand GO 4 IT, David has also written songs for shows including THE NEWS HUDDLINES and sketches for shows such as BBC Scotland’s WATSON’S WIND-UP. His play ARE YOU BEING MURDERED? was performed at the Edinburgh Festival and his feature screenplay TROOPERS is under option with Silver Buckle Films. David has also been developing an original series for the US with Reel One Entertainment. Most recent commissions include episodes of Mill Bay Media’s new BBC1 show THE HAIRDRESSER MYSTERIES and a new Radio 4 comedy drama with Jarvis & Ayres.
