James has written for many comedy programmes on TV and radio. He was a writer/producer on five series of MY FAMILY and three series of AFTER YOU’VE GONE (BBC1). He has recently written four series of Radio 4’s THE BREAK (Absolutely Productions) with Ian Brown. James and Ian previously wrote the BBC sitcom HOME AGAIN, and an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s WHY DIDN’T THEY ASK EVANS? Other credits include: Dawn French’s MURDER MOST HORRID (writing and directing), MY HERO, HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, RED DWARF, SPITTING IMAGE, WEEK ENDING and THE NEWS HUDDLINES. James also co-created and wrote the sketch show DIAL M FOR PIZZA and the narrative mystery TALES FROM THE MAUSOLEUM CLUB for Radio 4. A short film he wrote and directed, WORK EXPERIENCE (starring Lenny Henry), won the Oscar for Live Action Short.
