Michael is part of the writing team, with Steve Whyley, that won the BAFTA Rocliffe Award for Comedy in 2019, going on to further develop the winning script with Fudge Park Productions for the BBC and then UKTV. Other recent co-written projects have since been optioned by companies including Spelthorne Community, 2LE Media, Gobby Girl Productions and Hat Trick. Michael previously studied film at both undergraduate and post-graduate level and completed his screenwriting MA at LCC at the same time as he began performing stand-up – performing at the Camden Fringe, and taking part in the Soho Theatre’s Young Company Stand-up Comedy Lab in 2019. He has credits on BBC’s Newsjack, and set up ‘Beloved Aunt Comedy’, a YouTube channel which includes shorts, sketches and a web series called ‘Noel Wrighter: Screenwriter’. Together with Steve, Michael currently has a number of television projects under option, as well as an original solo drama in development.
