Liam Beirne

Liam is a writer for radio and television. His writing for radio includes ALEXEI SAYLE’S IMAGINARY SANDWICH BAR, LEMN SISSAY’S ORIGIN STORIES, DEAD RINGERS, THE NEWS QUIZ, THE NOW SHOW, JAKE YAPP SAVES HUMANITY, THE DESIGNSPARK PODCAST, SPOTLIGHT TONIGHT WITH NISH KUMAR, DOMESTIC SCIENCE, FRED MACAULEY’S WET HOT POLITICAL SUMMER and THE SHOW WHAT YOU WROTE. He has also written for and script edited episodes of NEWSJACK and IT’S JOCELYN, which won a BBC Audio Drama Award in 2018. For children’s television he has written for DIDDY TV. In 2015 and 2016 he was granted a bursary to work as a BBC Radio Comedy Staff Writer, during which time he wrote on in-house comedy shows, wrote promos and trailers for television and radio, and read and judged submissions to NEWSJACK and THE NEW COMEDY AWARD. He has also been a guest speaker for students studying Comedy at the National Film and Television School. He is currently working on various projects with comedians JULIETTE BURTON and GEORGIE MORRELL, including co-writing Juliette’s Acast sitcom SWEET DREAMS.
