Samia is a London-born screenwriter of Saudi/Welsh heritage who has been selected in recent years for both the WFTV Four Nations Mentoring Scheme and the BBC Writersroom London Voices group. Her writing and performing often explore her complex heritage, mining to darkly comic effect autobiographical material including her kidnap as a child by her father and later membership of a British cult. She has been mentored as an actor/writer by comedy producer Gareth Edwards, with whom she has also developed scripts; and recent work has been optioned by Fulwell 73, Vox Pictures and Noho Film & TV. Samia is represented for her acting by Noel Gay and also performs stand-up, with her latest one-woman show – KIDNAP – running at Riverside Studios in summer 2024.
