Joanna has an MA in Screenwriting & Creative Production from Leeds Beckett University and MA in TV Fiction Writing from Glasgow Caledonian University, where she became the recipient of the prestigious Warner Brothers Media Scholarship (2019). A finalist in the BBC Studios Thousand Stories Competition, she went on to become a core writer on ITV’s award-winning continuing drama series EMMERDALE, where she has written 15 episodes and created new characters for the soap. She currently has a number of original TV projects in development, focusing on everything from emotional family dramas, urban period crime shows to black character-led stories.
