David Semple

David has written for several series of BBC1 hit show FATHER BROWN, as well as writing for the first two series of daytime detective drama SHAKESPEARE AND HATHAWAY. He has also written for BBC1’s CASUALTY and been a core member of the BBC’s DOCTORS writing team, now with over 60 episodes to his name. Previously, for radio, David wrote three series of AGATHA RAISIN for Radio 4, with Penelope Keith starring as the eponymous detective. In addition to writing the first episode of children’s TV series BARON BEASTLY for Meerkat, and dramatising folk tales for R4′s children’s strand GO 4 IT, David has also written songs for shows including THE NEWS HUDDLINES and sketches for shows such as BBC Scotland’s WATSON’S WIND-UP. His feature screenplay TROOPERS is currently under option.
